My last.fm plug-in for Rhythmbox is now available for Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) too.
You can get the package by adding
deb http://blog.blackdown.de/static/debian/rhythmbox/ jaunty main deb-src http://blog.blackdown.de/static/debian/rhythmbox/ jaunty main
to /etc/apt/sources.list
.
After adding those lines, do:
$ sudo aptitude update $ sudo aptitude install rhythmbox
The repositories are signed with my GPG key which can be imported into your apt keyring with
$ wget http://blog.blackdown.de/static/gpg.asc -O - | \ sudo apt-key add -
Please remember to disable the old Last.fm plug-in before enabling mine (New Style Last.fm Scrobbler). Also please note that my plug-in requires the lastfm
client to work correctly.
Read more about the plugin and get the source code at Last.fm for Rhythmbox – New Style.
How do I get this to work for Karmic Koala alpha?
Hi,
I went to http://blog.blackdown.de/static/debian/rhythmbox/ but that redirected to your blog post.
Then I probed for http://blog.blackdown.de/static/debian/rhythmbox/dists/karmic/Release but that 404’d.
I assume that you have no karmic version yet and that meanwhile we should use the jaunty version?
(The directories aren’t browsable, only the files apt needs are accessible.)
There’s no Karmic build yet, I’ll upload one in the next days. Stay tuned.
I too am anxiously awaiting the Karmic build. The built in last.fm scrobbler is awful. Jürgen’s rocks.
Hello Jürgen,
Any news on the Karmic version? I just upgraded my Jaunty and I don’t find the Karmic release of the Blackdown Rhythmbox & last.fm plugin. :(
I’ll upload the Karmic build tomorrow!
Will take a few hours longer than expected. I don’t have personal build daemons for Karmin currently and Ubuntu’s servers are slightly overloaded.
Something new with karmic repository? when can we expect it?
It’s available now: New-Style Last.fm Scrobbler for Ubuntu Karmic
Thanks for your patience!
